SEPTEMBER 2010 - The month of September 2010 is SAVE A SHELTER DOG month at PUPPY ANGELS RESCUE!  All dogs 1 year and older will have their adoption fee reduced to $175.00.  Please note you must complete an on-line application for review and approval prior to attending any of our open houses.  For more information and to see your new family member, go to www.puppyangels.com!
 


 

SEPTEMBER 4 - The Manchester YMCA Tiger Sharks swim team will be hosting a fundraiser car wash from 11am to 4pm at Burger King, 737 Hooksett Road in Manchester. Please support your local YMCA swim team, the Division III GSSA State Champs! The Tiger Sharks swim team is a YMCA and USA affiliated swim team for swimmers ages 5-18. The fall season will begin on September 13. SEPTEMBER 8 to 10 & SEPTEMBER 17 & 18 - Temple Israel of Dover welcomes congregants as well as guests from the Seacoast community to join in worship on the High Holy Days, Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.   Check the Temple website, www.dovertemple.org for a list of services on September 8th to 10th for Rosh Hashanah and on September 17th in the evening and September 18th  throughout the day for Yom Kippur.  Evening services are at 8:00 pm and morning services begin at 10:00 am.   There will be family-friendly services on September 9 and September 18 at 2:00 pm.  Members of the Seacoast community who have not yet joined Temple Israel and would like to attend services should call us at 603-742-3976  to make arrangements to attend High Holy Day services at our Temple. Join us for prayer, contemplation, and the warmth of community in a beautiful building and natural setting.

 



SEPTEMBER 11 – It’s the 2010 Seafood Festival, Hampton Beach – Over 50 of the Seacoast’s top restaurants serving an abundance of mouthwatering seafood delicacies; 80 Arts & Crafts vendors promoting locally made products; hundreds of Ocean Boulevard merchants offering end-of-the-season Sidewalk Sales.  www.hamptonbeachseafoodfestival.com  

 



SEPTEMBER 11 – Prescott Farm Harvest Festival, Laconia – A chance to enjoy the bounty of the farm at harvest time.  Various vendors will provide delicious offerings.  Events include horse drawn hayrides, face painting, family farm dances and more.  www.prescottconservancy.org

 



SEPTEMBER  11 – Evening Harvest Shaker Village Herb Walk, Canterbury – Visitors can stroll through the beautiful herb gardens of Canterbury Shaker Village and step back into the rich natural and healing history these lands once offered the world. www.shakers.org

 



SEPTEMBER  12 – Dewey the Dog & Friends, Canterbury – A Canterbury Shaker Village celebration for the whole family, including the canine members. Visitors may bring dogs on a leash outside at Canterbury Shaker Village. www.shakers.org  

 


 

SEPTEMBER 25 – It’s the Alzheimer's Association Central New Hampshire Memory Walk, taking place at the Fisher Cats Stadium in Manchester.  Walk on your own or as a team to raise money for the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.  Registration is free and you can even sign up on the day of the walk.  There will be food, entertainment, and walking for a great cause.  Get more information on the website at www.memorywalkmanh.org
 



OCTOBER 6 – It’s “The Rainbow Awards” to celebrate Champions for Mental Health and to raise funds & awareness.  The event will be held at the Grappone Center in Concord from 5:30-7:30 pm. Tickets are $30 per person/$25 for groups of ten.  For sponsorship information call 226-7505, ext. 3283

NOVEMBER 19 through 21 - The SNOB (Somewhat North of Boston)Film Festival will be held Nov 19-21, 2010 at Red River Theatres in Concord NH.  They exist to support independent filmmaking.  Join in for the whole weekend or just one film block.   New this year: Nov 20th, from 8:30 to 11:30, see the KNOB (Kids North of Boston) films, submitted by K-8th graders, and enjoy deep discounts to watch these films for guests age 12 and under!

NOVEMBER 26 – It’s the Manchester Memorial High School Class of 1990 class reunion. Your former classmates invite you to celebrate the TWENTY-YEAR class reunion!
