"X Factor" Rumors: Beyoncé and Mariah Carey:
Let the rampant "X Factor" speculation begin! --The rarely reliable site MediaTakeOut.com claims to have an "EXTREMELY RELIABLE insider" who says that SIMON COWELL wants BEYONCÉ to be a judge . . . and he's offering her $500 million to do it. --Yes, $500 MILLION. That's HALF A BILLION.
--The "insider" says this would be a five-year deal . . . $100 million a year . . . and supposedly Beyoncé IS interested. (--No kidding. For $100 million a year, the Queen of England would join "The View".)
--Obviously, this is a far-fetched rumor. We all know Simon would LOVE to have Beyoncé, but even other anonymous sources on the Internet are admitting that $500 million is, quote, "especially crazy."
--Meanwhile, there's also a lot of talk about MARIAH CAREY.
--Mariah's manager is "American Idol" judge RANDY JACKSON . . . and he addressed the rumors yesterday. He said that Mariah would "be amazing," but he, quote, "doesn't know if that's ever going to happen."
--But Randy wouldn't be surprised if Simon did snag a big name. He said, quote, "Simon's one of the smartest people I know. I'm sure he's got some very interesting ideas up his sleeve."
--The Mariah speculation isn't surprising because it actually looked like Simon might land her last season. But it didn't work out.
--Even after the first "X Factor" judges were announced, Simon insisted that Mariah would be, quote, "involved in some form," but that didn't work out either.
(--Another thing that didn't work out: Mariah's performance on "X Factor". Showbiz411.com says she was supposed to perform with JUSTIN BIEBER in December, but then Mariah demanded $300,000 to do it. So that didn't happen.)
(--$500 million jobs . . . $300,000 cameo appearances . . . I don't know if these numbers are accurate, but as much as Simon SEEMS like a big deal, "2 Broke Girls" has a bigger average audience than "X Factor". So, c'mon.)
--Mariah hasn't said anything, but earlier this week, her husband NICK CANNON basically killed the rumor. On his radio show, he said, quote, "I personally think it's a step down. Why would my wife want to be on a show like that?
--"For somebody who has a legendary career, I don't know why they would do that."
Adam Levine Isn't Happy That Randy Jackson Called "The Voice" a "Second-Chance Place":
It seems to be ON between ADAM LEVINE of "The Voice" and "American Idol" judge RANDY JACKSON. --In an interview airing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" today, Ellen asks Adam about some comments Randy made recently. She says, quote, "Randy said that 'The Voice' is basically kind of a second-chance place . . . --"People that don't get in someplace else go to 'The Voice'." --And here's what Adam has to say to that: Quote, "I heard about this. Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that, because he out of anybody should know that if you're in this business you need second, third, fourth and fifth chances. --"So we love and embrace that being part of the show, [but] it was an irresponsible thing to say that." (--There's video of this on EOnline.com.) (--This isn't the first time Adam and Randy have locked horns. Last year, they engaged in a little TRASH TALK about each other's shows. Then last summer, Adam criticized "Idol" for not featuring openly gay contestants.)
