In Honor of President's Day, a New Survey Figures Out America's Most and Least Favorite Presidents:
Resurrect GEORGE WASHINGTON! It's President's Day, and in honor of the holiday, Public Policy Polling surveyed Americans to find their most and least favorite presidents. --And the two presidents who inspired President's Day finished at the top.
Washington is the most popular president of all time. 89% of people surveyed have a favorable opinion of him . . . only 3% have unfavorable opinions. ABRAHAM LINCOLN was second, with 85% positive, 7% negative.
The rest of the top 10 are Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, John Adams, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, John Quincy Adams, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. --For the recent presidents, Ronald Reagan came in 14th, Gerald Ford was 16th, Bill Clinton was 17th, George H.W. Bush was 19th, and Jimmy Carter was 29th. --Richard Nixon was the least popular president. President Obama was the 7th least popular and George W. Bush was 11th least popular. --Also, for what it's worth, Franklin Pierce is the president who the fewest people have an opinion about. 84% of people said they don't have a good or bad opinion on Pierce.
